BIO

Will Whitten was born in Oceanside, California, and grew up in Kingman, Arizona. He completed his two bachelor’s degrees with honors in Music Education and Music Performance at Northern Arizona University (NAU), where he studied under the esteemed trombonist David Allen Vining.

For four years, whitten was the principal bass trombonist of the NAU Wind Symphony, NAU Symphony Orchestra, and for one year with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra. Whitten has further enriched his musical journey by performing with diverse ensembles from avant-garde, klezmer, and drum corps. He is now living in Flagstaff, Arizona, where he teaches middle school band, elementary music, and strings. He often composes for fun but gets asked to write marching band shows, concert band music, and arrangements for groups in the Arizona area.
